Dave Wooden is one of the best counselors anyone can have. We were very lucky to work with him. He guided us through what felt like an impossible situation, held us accountable, and taught us things about ourselves, relationships, and our own dynamic that we wouldn't have gleaned from books or on our own. Dave is a great professional who is also very personable, trustworthy, and direct to the point. We highly recommend him and are grateful to him.

My wife and I sought marriage counseling after being married for about 11 years at the time. We're glad we found Well Marriage Center. They were professional all throughout the process, from getting an appointment to counseling session. They gave us a list of their certified counselors based on our criteria. Kelly was such a great listener and was really insightful and did indeed help us in our relationship. We highly recommend her.

I can’t recommend Dave highly enough! My partner and I had tried couples therapy before without much success, but working with Dave was truly transformative. Dr. Marianne Niles is brilliant. My husband and I saw her for a few sessions and she was able to guide us through the center of the issue, and out the other side, by hearing and seeing each other with more compassionate hearts. Kelly is the best! She turned our marriage completely around, including our individual self-care. She is respectful, listens intently, and lets us drive the pace of discussion. She's willing to adjust to meet our needs, both with schedule, therapy approach, and priorities. Kelly is open minded and is an ally to LGBTQ+ couples. I've truly felt from the start that she had our betterment as her goal, and for that she earned my trust.

We worked with Holly for around a year or so. She was always on time, prepared and seldom had scheduling conflicts.
She’s an excellent marriage counselor and helped us navigate through a very difficult period where we could barely communicate effectively with each other. She helped me see what a healthy marriage should look like, how I can better participate in building/maintaining one and mostly that a marriage should be two people living their best lives together. I am grateful for her help and it has helped to live a better life as well as understand how to be an effective partner in a marriage.

After watching my parents struggle with resentments at the end of their lives, after over 70 years marriage, my husband and I wanted to use this fall to do a long-planned "tune-up" for our wonderful 40-year marriage.

We were blessed to be matched with Lisa Ghali, who was really quite amazing. She listened and laughed with us--pointing out things we didn't always see or appreciate about each other. Our biggest take-aways were learning to communicate even more clearly (because neither of us is a mind-reader!) and asking better questions ("Tell me what you were thinking!"). We so enjoyed our sessions with her and learned strategies to keep the party going for years to come. We've had many health challenges over the years, so we especially appreciate how well she understood the impact of those on our marriage. Most importantly, we learned that there was plenty of blame to go around! Rather than trying to assign blame, we realized we both had "pennies in the nickle."

I also want to thank both Lisa and Office Manager Hannah for working so hard to make sure the Bethesda location could accommodate my physical disability. I truly appreciated that!

We are so grateful for such a lovely experience and highly recommend Well Marriage Center and Lisa Ghali. We will be back whenever we feel the need for another "tune-up" down the road!

My Husband and I have been seeing Quintin since about November 2021. It doesn't take problems to seek help, already having the help in place keeps the marriage strong. Quintin is very unbiased and he tells both my Husband and myself not what we want to hear, but what we need to hear! My Husband and I have been together 22 years and married 15 and we needed support for the unexpected and challenging changes of life. Quintin is both fair and honest and I must say my Husband has never received or welcomed counsel as well and as open as he does with Quintin, so for that I am thankful. He's an all around amazing guy! 10/10 would recommend as we still have him for support as needed.

Twelve years ago Ellen saved our marriage, and we are super grateful. We found Ellen when we had been in a deep crisis related to infertility, and our inability to make a shared decision or move forward together. We met with three other previous therapists and some of that made things worse, but Ellen really “got” us. She was so gentle, kind, transparent and wise, and saw us through the worst experience of our lives. Twelve years later we came back to focus on some other issues because we knew that we could trust Ellen to really have both of our best interests at heart. (And we wanted her to know about our two kids!)

My husband and I started seeing Lori a couple years ago to help with some problems we were having in our marriage. I can honestly say it was the best decision we have made for our marriage. Thanks to Lori's help I feel like we are happier than we have been in a long time. We just had our last appointment with Lori, but I know that if we ever have any issues in the future Lori will be the first person we call. I cannot recommend her enough.

I cannot say enough good things about Nicole Stone. My wife and I have seen her together and individually. She is first off just a cool, interesting person to talk to. But more than that she is an intelligent therapist who always seems to have the right words to help you understand what you are feeling. Glen is an extraordinary marriage counselor for whom helping couples is clearly not just a passion, but a calling. Marissa is an incredible marriage and relationship counselor. My partner and I suffered from a never ending cycle of miscommunication/constant conflict. She guided us to take a step back and understand what we were actually arguing about and why. My husband and I started seeing Marissa Josiah before we were even engaged and she really helped create a neutral, safe space for us to learn the ins and outs of our relationship, communicate better and ultimately realize the goals for our relationship and lives together. Even though I individually was seeing a psychologist, Marissa still helped me uncover things about myself and the way I view relationships that transformed my outlook. Marissa is kind, patient and understanding and is really interested in helping people process the reasons they come to see her. You will have to do work and be an active participant in your sessions in order to get the most of it, but I found Marissa had a great step wise approach that didn't seem overwhelming and allowed us to be receptive to the changes we wanted to make.

Quintin is an excellent therapist. He’s extremely understanding and “normal” meaning he’s shows his empathy in sessions and makes things relative. My husband suffers from PTSD and wasn’t ever open or a fan of therapist, that changed with Quintin. We also greatly appreciated that upfront Quintin told us he’s there to advise us “out”. Meaning his goal is for us was to not have to continue therapy, which was refreshing and not something I’ve experienced in my years of therapy. Strong encourage those to leverage Quintin for couples therapy, we’ll certainly use him in the future (needed).

My wife and I saw Dr Steve for a period of 3-4 months. It was a hard time. We came out of the other side with an amazing new marriage. Dr. Libby Stevens was amazing to work with. She always met me with compassion and understanding, and helped me tackle some difficult issues by providing direct feedback and exercises, which really helped add structure to my treatment path. Her suggestions and insight demonstrated a solid and up-to-date knowledge-base of the issues I was working on with her.

Communication/logistics with her was very easy as well, as she was easily reachable through email, text, or the secure patient portal app that we used. We always did our appointments virtually through video conference, which made things much more convenient, given my work schedule. However, she also had the option for in-person appointments in her Reston office, if I ever preferred that.

Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Stevens and WMC, as I feel that this was my most positive and productive experience with personal therapy.

She helped us not only as a couple to work through some tough conversations, but helped us both individually as well. I could not recommend her enough and know my husband feels the same way. My wife and I saw Ellen for about five months to help us better communicate effectively. Her philosophy of bettering ourselves first to be better partners for our spouses helped us focus on what we could control (ourselves) instead of picking at ways our partner could improve. Ellen Singer is a wonderful marriage counselor! My husband and I spoke with a few therapists before meeting Ellen and after spending a few minutes with her, we agreed she would be a good fit for us. Ellen helped us immensely and made our marriage so much stronger. The Well Marriage Center has been a huge support for me and my husband. We’ve been seeing our amazing counselor for 7+ years now. We started off doing pre-wedding counseling and decided he was so good - we would continue our sessions. He’s been there for us through the good times and bad times. Without a doubt Victoria Ipsen is a true gem in multiple ways. Was a great benefit as we were transitioning to being empty nesters after 25 years of marriage but wanted to get the absolute best out of life together. Victoria helped us sort of our differences, build new common grounds when we didn't realize there were many left.
